Cancellation & Refund Policy
A Legal Disclaimer | Effective Date: August 5, 2026
This Cancellation & Refund Policy applies to appointments and services provided by Tin’s Garage LLC (“Tin’s Garage,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By scheduling an appointment or authorizing us to begin work, you agree to this policy, subject to any rights that cannot legally be waived.
1. Cancelling or Rescheduling an Appointment
Customers may cancel or reschedule an appointment by contacting Tin’s Garage by telephone, text message, or email.
We request at least 24 hours’ notice before the scheduled appointment time whenever possible.
Contact us at:
Phone: 530-863-7975
Email: htin.tun@tins-garage.com
A cancellation or rescheduling request is not considered received until Tin’s Garage receives the message. Customers are encouraged to retain a copy or screenshot of their request.
2. Cancellations Made at Least 24 Hours in Advance
Appointments cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours before the scheduled appointment time will not be subject to a cancellation fee.
Because Tin’s Garage does not currently require a standard booking deposit, no refund will ordinarily be necessary for appointments cancelled before service begins.
3. Late Cancellations
A cancellation or rescheduling request received less than 24 hours before the scheduled appointment is considered a late cancellation.
Tin’s Garage does not currently impose an automatic monetary fee for a first late cancellation. However, repeated late cancellations may result in:
-
A reservation deposit being required for future appointments
-
Restrictions on available appointment times
-
Refusal of future appointment requests
Any reservation deposit required for a future booking will be clearly disclosed before the customer schedules or confirms that appointment.
4. Missed Appointments and No-Shows
An appointment may be treated as a no-show when:
-
The customer is unavailable at the scheduled location
-
The vehicle is not present or cannot be accessed
-
The customer does not respond within a reasonable period after our arrival
-
Required keys or access credentials are unavailable
-
The service location is incorrect, unsafe, prohibited, or inaccessible
-
Required electrical access is unavailable and no alternative was agreed upon
-
The customer fails to disclose that the appointment can no longer be completed
A customer who misses an appointment may be required to pay a reservation deposit before scheduling another appointment.
Repeated no-shows may result in Tin’s Garage declining future service requests.
5. Customer Delays
Customers should ensure that the vehicle, keys, electrical outlet, and service area are ready at the scheduled appointment time.
A customer-caused delay may:
-
Reduce the amount of work that can reasonably be completed
-
Delay the estimated completion time
-
Require the appointment to be rescheduled
-
Affect future booking eligibility
Tin’s Garage will not reduce the approved price solely because a customer-caused delay limits the available service time after work has begun, unless we agree to a reduced scope before continuing.
6. Weather and Environmental Conditions
Mobile detailing may be affected by rain, high winds, extreme temperatures, smoke, poor air quality, unsafe lighting, water restrictions, or other environmental conditions.
Tin’s Garage may delay, relocate, modify, or reschedule an appointment when conditions could:
-
Create a safety risk
-
Prevent satisfactory results
-
Interfere with the application or curing of a product
-
Damage equipment or the customer’s vehicle
-
Violate property rules or local requirements
There will be no cancellation or rescheduling penalty when Tin’s Garage determines that an appointment cannot safely or properly be completed because of weather or environmental conditions.
We will make reasonable efforts to offer the next mutually available appointment.
7. Cancellations by Tin’s Garage
Tin’s Garage may cancel or reschedule an appointment because of:
-
Illness or emergency
-
Equipment failure
-
Vehicle or location safety concerns
-
Severe weather
-
Scheduling errors
-
Unexpected travel delays
-
Conditions that make the requested service unsafe or unsuitable
-
Circumstances beyond our reasonable control
The customer will not be charged when Tin’s Garage cancels an appointment before service begins.
If the customer made an approved advance payment, Tin’s Garage will offer either:
-
Transfer of the payment to a rescheduled appointment, or
-
A refund of the amount paid for services not provided
Tin’s Garage is not responsible for indirect expenses arising from a cancelled appointment, such as transportation costs, lost wages, rental vehicles, missed work, or other consequential losses, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
8. Final Inspection and Price Approval
Before beginning work, Tin’s Garage will inspect the vehicle and discuss its condition, requested services, service limitations, and final price with the customer.
The customer may decline the proposed service and cancel the appointment before approving the final price and before work begins.
Once the customer approves the final service scope and price, that price will be final for the agreed work. Tin’s Garage will not add charges without obtaining further customer approval.
9. Cancellation After Work Begins
After the customer authorizes Tin’s Garage to begin work, the service is considered in progress.
A customer who asks us to stop an authorized service may ordinarily be responsible for:
-
Work already completed
-
Labor already performed
-
Products already applied
-
Materials opened or used specifically for the vehicle
-
Any portion of the agreed service that cannot reasonably be reversed
Tin’s Garage will explain the amount due before leaving when reasonably possible.
This provision is subject to any statutory cancellation right or other consumer protection that cannot legally be waived.
10. Completed Services
Payments for completed and accepted services are generally final.
A refund will not ordinarily be provided solely because:
-
The customer changes their mind after completion
-
The customer expected a result beyond the service that was purchased
-
A permanent defect, stain, odor, scratch, etching, or damaged material could not be completely removed
-
The customer purchased a maintenance or refresh service instead of a deep-cleaning, restoration, or paint-correction service
-
A coating or protective product is later affected by improper washing, environmental exposure, abrasion, chemicals, neglect, or lack of maintenance
Nothing in this section limits a customer’s rights regarding a service that was not performed as agreed or any right that cannot legally be waived.
11. Service Results Are Not Guaranteed
Tin’s Garage will perform authorized services using reasonable care and professional judgment. However, complete removal or correction cannot be guaranteed for conditions such as:
-
Permanent stains
-
Odors
-
Pet hair
-
Sand
-
Mold
-
Smoke residue
-
Water spots
-
Mineral deposits
-
Tree sap
-
Bird-dropping etching
-
Scratches
-
Swirl marks
-
Oxidation
-
Paint chips
-
Clear-coat failure
-
Fading or discoloration
-
Chemical damage
-
Deteriorated leather, fabric, plastic, trim, or paint
The inability to completely remove a condition that was disclosed as permanent, uncertain, or outside the purchased service does not automatically qualify the service for a refund.
12. Reporting a Service Concern
Customers are encouraged to inspect the vehicle when service is completed.
A missed area, workmanship concern, or suspected service-related issue should be reported as soon as reasonably possible and preferably within 48 hours after completion.
The report should include:
-
Customer’s name
-
Appointment date
-
Vehicle year, make, and model
-
Description of the concern
-
Clear photographs or videos where appropriate
Concerns may be submitted to:
Email: htin.tun@tins-garage.com
Phone: 530-863-7975
The 48-hour reporting period is intended to help us evaluate the vehicle before it is exposed to additional use, weather, washing, passengers, other service providers, or new contamination. It does not eliminate a legal right that cannot lawfully be restricted.
13. Opportunity to Inspect and Correct
Before a refund or credit is considered, the customer must provide Tin’s Garage with a reasonable opportunity to:
-
Review the customer’s report
-
Inspect the vehicle
-
Determine whether the concern relates to the authorized service
-
Correct a verified missed area or workmanship issue where reasonably possible
When a concern can reasonably be corrected, Tin’s Garage may offer a complimentary touch-up or re-performance of the affected portion of the service.
The correction appointment must be scheduled within a reasonable period and may be performed at a mutually agreed location.
Refusing to provide a reasonable opportunity for inspection or correction may affect Tin’s Garage’s ability to offer a refund, credit, or other remedy.
14. Refunds and Service Credits
A refund or service credit may be considered when:
-
Tin’s Garage charged for an authorized service that was not performed
-
The customer was charged more than the final approved price
-
A verified workmanship issue cannot reasonably be corrected
-
Tin’s Garage agrees that a partial or full refund is the appropriate resolution
-
Applicable law requires a refund
Depending on the circumstances, the available resolution may include:
-
Correction of the affected area
-
Re-performance of part of the service
-
Partial refund
-
Full refund
-
Service credit for a future appointment
The remedy will generally correspond to the affected portion of the service rather than unrelated work that was properly completed.
15. Approved Refund Method and Timing
Approved refunds will ordinarily be issued through:
-
Zelle
-
Cash
-
Another method mutually agreed upon in writing
Tin’s Garage will generally issue an approved refund within 10 business days after the resolution is confirmed, unless applicable law requires a different method or deadline.
Tin’s Garage is not responsible for delays caused by incorrect payment information provided by the customer or by a customer’s financial institution.
16. Overpayments and Incorrect Payments
Customers should verify the Zelle recipient information and payment amount before sending money.
If Tin’s Garage receives an accidental duplicate payment or confirmed overpayment, we will return the excess amount after verifying that the original payment has been fully received and is not pending, reversed, disputed, or fraudulent.
Tin’s Garage is not responsible for money sent to an incorrect telephone number, email address, person, or account because of customer error.
17. Reservation Deposits
Tin’s Garage does not currently require a standard deposit for ordinary appointments.
We may require a reservation deposit for:
-
High-value services
-
Appointments requiring a substantial time commitment
-
Special-order products
-
Customers with prior late cancellations or missed appointments
-
Appointments requiring unusual preparation or travel
Before collecting a deposit, Tin’s Garage will disclose:
-
The amount
-
What the deposit applies toward
-
The cancellation deadline
-
Whether any portion is refundable
-
Any circumstances under which it may be transferred to another appointment
No future deposit requirement will retroactively apply to an appointment already confirmed without one.
18. Legally Protected Cancellation Rights
Nothing in this policy is intended to limit a cancellation or refund right provided by applicable law.
California defines certain contracts for goods or services worth at least $25 that are made away from a seller’s appropriate trade premises as “home solicitation contracts.” When that law applies, a customer may have until midnight of the third business day to cancel, or the fifth business day when the customer is 65 or older. California law also requires specific contract language and cancellation notices for covered transactions.
Tin’s Garage will honor any valid statutory cancellation right applicable to a particular transaction. If this policy conflicts with a nonwaivable legal right, the legal right will control.
19. Policy Changes
Tin’s Garage may update this Cancellation & Refund Policy to reflect changes in our services, scheduling practices, payment methods, or legal obligations.
The version in effect when an appointment is confirmed will ordinarily apply to that appointment unless applicable law requires otherwise.
Revised versions will be posted with an updated effective date.
